Description and tasks
Licensed practical nurses provide patient care and work with nurses, physicians and other health care professionals. They take care, among other things, of taking patients’ vital signs, preparing and giving medication, carrying out the various treatments prescribed by doctors and collaborating in hygiene and comfort care. They participate in teaching patients and their families.
Nursing assistants carefully observe the behavior and reactions of the sick person. They make sure to detect any change in condition in order to report it and provide appropriate and effective care.
